Words cannot do justice to Lucy’s incredible talent to teach ballet. The classes are challenging and I always feel I’m developing my range of ballet skills. I have returned to Adult ballet after many years away and she has brought back my love of dance in the most passionate way! Role on Wednesdays and Fridays. I just wish I could do classes every single day!!!

I am currently a ballet student at the YBI and I have found the teaching to be of the highest standard. Lucy is a talented and experienced ballerina, she is an inspiration and I feel privileged to be learning under her superb tuition. Every aspect of ballet technique is covered from head to toe. I have learned a lot from her during my lessons. Lucy is the embodiment of every young ballerina’s dreams. Thank you Lucy.”

“ I attend Lucy’s adult ballet classes and ballet barre and look forward to each class every week. She has fantastic technical expertise and a rigorous training and that really shows in her incredibly professional approach. On top of this she is patient calm charming and sparkly all at once. I emerge from the classes feeling fit and happy and much much better than when I went in!”

Tom has loved his ballet lessons so far and is managing to brush off the comments from other kids at school. He’s very proud of his new-found ballet skills and practises at home. The very small group lessons are building his confidence and he beams with every nugget of praise e.g. “Lucy says my first position is improving”. We have found the atmosphere at lessons very positive and welcoming and it’s very clear that Tom is in expert hands.

I get so much enjoyment from my ballet lesson with Lucy. It’s challenging, whilst enjoyable - great for the mind, as well as the body. Lucy is a great teacher, who has ignited a passion, which I hope to develop. Having never danced as a child, I am loving my weekly insight into the world of ballet!

I was always looking for extra ballet classes and ‘found’ Lucy after a severe injury that stopped me dancing. Re-gaining being able to dance again became a priority and I slowly ‘re-emerged’ and started classes with Lucy. Lucy’s classes are instructional. Many classes I have been to before Lucy have lacked instruction and I came away feeling that I am not improving and that I am just repeating my mistakes. With Lucy I feel that I am progressing again and doing things correctly and in the right way to avoid injury again. I had lost my confidence as a result of injury and now I am looking forward to each class again and my confidence grows. I know that Lucy keeps a friendly but professional eye on me. She is also great fun and her innate love for the art of ballet shines out of her.

From my first few adult ballet classes to nearly a year on at YBI, I have found the classes so much fun. Lucy’s enthusiasm for ballet is really inspiring. Her professional expertise is clear in her explanations of steps alongside a use of imagery, which helps improve my ballet technique. I’ve enjoyed how rewarding it is to progress onto more challenging classes and feeling the benefits of increased flexibility and fitness.

Lucy is a fabulous teacher, I take three classes with her & all are well-paced, inspiring & a complete pleasure! For anyone looking to return to ballet as an adult, or start from scratch as I did, I would highly recommend her tuition.

I have always loved watching ballet, loved the music and admired the physical ability of the dancers; I never imagined that it would be something that I could do. Then an item popped up on my facebook...adult beginners ballet class!! I went along and absolutely love it. Lucy is a great teacher, very calm and clear and patient. So at the ripe old age of 59 I am doing my plie’s and arabesques and one day I will touch my toes.
